Welcome to the 1st Gourock Beaver Colony

We meet on a Tuesday night at the Scout HQ on Drumshantie Road from 6:30 to 7:30. We have four leaders and three scout helpers.

At the moment we have a very healthy colony with an average attendance of 30-35 boys and girls a week.

We use a wide range of programmes and activities which address a variety of subjects such as the environment, water, home and road safety and healthy living. Using our programmes we work towards different badges and awards. At present there is a maximum of twelve activity badges available for the beavers to gain with other challenge badges.

Beavers also work towards their Chief Scouts Bronze Award. All our beavers make their beaver promise and get their promise badge.

Penny Mile

This year the 1st Gourock Beavers are planning to donate money to the RNLI. To raise the money we intend to do a penny mile. This means we need our Beavers to bring as many pennies as possible. Our main task is to raise as much money for the charity as possible. To make a mile of pennies, 84,480 to be exact, is a bonus. The money we raise will go to the RNLI. Help us do our good deed for the year and support our chosen charity.

We managed to raise a total of £60 for the RNLI. Well done to all the beavers.
