The biggest event in April was our Sponsored Walk, which two of the Cubs have written about below:
Last Sunday we went on the Sponsored Walk. We started at Lunderston Bay and walked all the way up to Everton - though the Scouts had to walk the whole way from Scout HQ on Drumshantie Road.
The Beavers had the easiest walk - they only joined us in Inverkip! (Along with Alasdair because he was with his little sister)
At Inverkip some of the Scouts were allowed to go and buy things at Sainsbury's, while we played in the park.
Then we walked all the way up the hill to Everton, but thankfully when we got there we got some soup, sandwiches and a drink - and got to play for a little while.
After that we had to walk back down to the village to get picked up and ran home!
It was a tiring day!!
And that was The Sponsored Walk according to Sebastian and Alasdair.

We did lots of fun stuff at Cubs this month - some of us have been working on our IT badges and others have been doing their DIY badges!
The boys doing their IT badge have been making up the fantastic articles for these pages of the web-site
The DIY-ers among us have been working on making baskets, key racks and bird-houses - which are all works of art!!!
We've also been playing lots of games - and we even managed to get outside for a night and play Rounders and Football - looks like the summer is coming!!

It comes to them all at some point in the Scouting careers - they suddenly become too old for the fun and games of the Cubs and have to start going along to that scarey place called the SCOUTS!!! This was the situation facing some of the Cubs recently - but don't worry, the boys get broken in gently with a few weeks' taster! Below are their own accounts of what they experienced: LEWIS: At Scouts we did lots of things - like play a game called 'Capture the Flag' which was lots of fun - we had to find a glow stick on a stick! Then we played a game called catch and fly! LUKE: The first game at Scouts involved jumping over a wellie on a rope! Then it was a game of Capture the Flag - we were divided into 2 teams, we then had to hide our own flag and then try and find the other team's - it was fuuuuuuuunnnnnnn!! Then we went back to the hall and learnt about the Scout Promise, and by then it was time to go home! LEWIS: Capture the flag was the best game that I have ever played!! The leaders were great and I made lots of new friends there. When I was playing the flag game I got very muddy - it was great! I can't wait togo back! So that was some of their thoughts on their first night at Scouts - sounds great!! |

This month we did a lot of fun things; including going to two museums, two new members joining from Beavers and Robbie got his membership badges.
At the start of the month we started our Artist badge by making up and drawing superheroes (we had to write their names, powers and weakness’). Then the week after all the Sixes had to make space ships and space station out of old rubbish. Some of us got to take them home.
Next week we started to paint a picture of Horrid Henry. Then we got letters about a trip about going to both Kelvingrove and the Transport Museums in Glasgow. On the trip we had a lot of fun going round the museums a quiz. Before we headed for home we went to the gift shop. We travelled back to Gourock on the minibus, and we got back our parents were there. (The picture shows us all outside Kelvingrove).

The week after that we played corners - it was very good, lots of fun.
After that we started this Blog as part of our IT badge. The other cubs have started doing their DIY badge.
Thanks for reading - Lewis, Louis, Luke & Sebastian |
